Type: Nicotinamide, Nicotinic Acid Amide
Niacinamide is another form of Vitamin B3.
Our body is able to produce niacinamide from dietary niacin and tryptophan (a type of non-essential amino acid). It is needed for promoting skin health, as it is often used to minimise redness caused by eczema or acne, retain skin moisture, lighten pigmentation, minimize fine lines and wrinkles and regulate oil production. Unlike niacin, niacinamide does not have the property in managing blood cholesterol health.
Common food sources include yeast, meat, fish, milk and green vegetables.
