Happy Father's Day
To our unsung hero for all his efforts, sacrifices, care and love, let’s appreciate the man who brought us up to where we are today!
To The Mega Man In Our Lives
This Father’s Day, let us celebrate and appreciate the man who not only gave us life, but also worked hand in hand with our mothers to bring us up.
Ever since we were conceived, our father was there each step of the way. He tried his best to satisfy our mother’s random bouts of cravings when we probably were just the size of a pea in her tummy, and helped give belly and feet massages when she experienced discomfort.
During childbirth, he provided assurance, strength and comfort for her successful delivery. And when he held you in his arms for the first time, whether you were wailing or sleeping soundly, he marvelled at the sight of you, his little miracle and bundle of joy.
Fathers Wear Many Hats
As the man of the house, he works hard to ensure bills are paid and his family has the quality of life they deserve. There might have been times during our childhood when he was so busy working hard to provide for the family, that he had to sacrifice his playtime with us. But, more often than not, dad would come home to be the best playmate any kid could ask for - he brushed aside his weariness from work to give unlimited piggyback rides, play pretend at whatever our fancy for the day, and laughed over cartoons with us.
While most mums might reign in the kitchen, our dads have also done their part to be our chef-on-demand, be it whipping up a humble bowl of instant noodles with egg for our hungry tummies or whipping up a full blown feast for more talented "dad-chefs", our dads have indulged our tummies in their own ways too.
From being the on-call handy man when items or equipment are faulty, to being the default protector/ security officer to check on us and make sure we reach home safely, right down to being the “unwilling” disciplinarian to make sure we stay out of trouble and grow up with the right values, the role of dads and their contributions are comparatively understated.
So this Father’s Day, give your old man a big pat on the back and a well-deserved bear hug for all his quiet sacrifices, love and commitment over the years. Your best gift to him would be your love, adoration, admiration and not to forget… the gift of health to the Superman (who dons many hats) in your life!
